Prof. Qing Yang/Chairman, CSO

Dr. Qing Yang is a Distinguished Engineering Professor at URI and an IEEE Fellow. His research interests are in the area of computer architecture and data storage. He has over 30 years of experiences in the areas of computer architecture and data storage both in academic research and in high tech industry. He has published over 120 high quality technical articles in these research fields and served as a general chair for the premier conferences in computer architecture such as International Symposium on Computer Architecture. He held 20 issued US patents and over a dozen pending applications. Majority of his patents have been licensed to computer industry with significant practical impact. He has founded four high tech startup companies using his research inventions and his patents in Boston area. His latest startup, VeloBit, was based on his new research results on flash memory SSD management. The products of VeloBit made a great impact on SSD storage sector. Western Digital, the worldwide dominator in storage devices, realized the significant value of the technologies of VeloBit and acquired VeloBit in July 2013 as a part of its strategic transition to entering the SSD market.

Dr. Yafei Yang/CEO and Board Director

Dr. Yafei Yang is an expert in chipset development and information security, with many years of research and management experience in semiconductor industry. From May 2008 to March 2016, he worked at Qualcomm Inc. (Office of the Chief Scientist and QCT), responsible for Qualcomm product security strategy, including smartphone chipsets, automotive chipsets, networking chipsets, IoT chipsets and server chipsets. Dr.Yang graduated from Univ. of Rhode Island and holds 7 US patents. He was invited to perform expert reviews on the technical proposals submitted under BTOP (White House Broadband Technology Opportunities Program) in 2010. To honor Dr.Yang's outstanding contribution to US economic recovery, US Secretary of Commerce (Gary Locke) and Assistant Secretary (Lawrence Strickling) wrote appreciation letters to him.

Prof. Weijun Li/CTO and Board Director

Dr.Li is a top researcher in the area of Machine Learning and Pattern Recognition. He has almost 20 years of experiences in the areas of High-dimension Data Analysis, Computer Vision and Intelligent System both in academic research and in technology development. He has published over 50 high quality technical articles in these research fields and held 6 issued patents and over a dozen pending applications. Majority of his patents have been licensed to industry companies with significant impact. Dr.Li was a professor with the lab of Artificial Neural Networks and High-speed Circuits, Institute of Semiconductors, CAS. He has chaired several national research projects.
